Paramount on Parkes wins Asia Pacific International Property Award for Design Excellence

ALAND’s Paramount on Parkes has been recognised as the Best Mixed-Use Development Australia at the prestigious 2023 Asia Pacific International Property Awards for its exceptional design and commitment to architectural excellence.

Paramount on Parkes was the result of a Design Excellence Competition to promote the use of high-quality architectural design, materials and detailing appropriate for the building type and location.

SJB Architects prepared the winning design scheme with the process carried out by Stanisic Architects, who ensured that Design Excellence was maintained throughout the entire design process. Sketch Design Group was selected as the project architect for the design and construction phases of the development.

Upon completion, the 46-storey tower will be located at 14-20 Parkes Street Harris Park and comprises 331 apartments with ground floor retail activating Parkes and Wigram streetscapes, and 3,356m2 of commercial space on levels 40 to 45.

In the Parramatta Local Government Area, this is the first mixed-use tower to be approved for commercial use at the top.

ALAND Founder and Director Andrew Hrsto said they were delighted to be recognised for their commitment to design excellence to deliver a high-quality development to the Paramatta Local Government Area.

“We are immensely proud to receive international recognition for our Paramount on Parkes project. This award is a testament to our commitment to delivering outstanding architectural design and creating spaces that enhance the lives of our residents and the surrounding community,” said Mr Hrsto.

“This recognition fuels our determination to continue pushing boundaries and creating exceptional residential developments that set new standards of design and quality.”

Paramount on Parkes was also recognised for challenging the status quo and rethinking the concept of a mixed-use development by placing six levels of commercial spaces, identified with gold plating on the exterior, on the upper levels of the residential tower offering unobstructed distant views of Sydney CBD.

“By integrating commercial spaces at the top of Paramount on Parkes, we are not only maximising the potential of the building but also ensuring that during the evening, there is greater residential activation creating a holistic and vibrant community where people can live, work, and thrive,” added Mr Hrsto.

Offering a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, Paramount on Parkes will feature a host of five-star hotel-style facilities for residents. Once completed, residents will have access to a rejuvenating resort-inspired pool on the spacious podium level, function space and barbecue area, lush landscaped gardens boasting local Western Sydney flora and a children’s play area.

Each apartment is designed to maximise light and space with floor-to-ceiling windows framing panoramic district views and covered balconies. Finished with neutral colour palettes so buyers can add their personal touch, the apartments also have ducted air-conditioning, Fisher & Paykel appliances, Grohe tapware and bespoke marble-like surfaces.

Construction is well underway with the tower expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2024.
