ALAND Achieves Gold Star Industry Rating

ALAND wins Gold Star industry rating inner blog

ALAND has been awarded a Gold Star iCIRT rating, a guarantee of quality and trustworthiness which is now widely accepted across the Australian building industry.

iCIRT provides anyone looking to buy property with a register where they can find builders and developers with a proven track record of quality and integrity – a first for Australia.

Gold standard is the highest rating category under the iCIRT star-rating system, which was first unveiled in 2022.

George Tadrosse, CEO of ALAND, says achieving a Gold Star iCIRT rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole ALAND team over many years.

“For the past two decades ALAND has focussed on creating vibrant new communities across western Sydney and the iCIRT certification reflects our commitment of the highest standards of design, engineering and construction,” he said.

“iCIRT is a rigorous and transparent rating system that provides consumers with the information that they need to make an informed decision when looking for a new home, so I welcome the introduction of this new register in NSW.”

A reliable guide for consumers

The iCIRT rating system was developed by Equifax to help identify building practitioners and project teams with a proven track record, supported by objective evidence of their capability to deliver buildings the public can trust.

According to Equifax iCIRT ratings are only issued after a company’s data has been assessed, scored and weighted across six eligibility criteria: Capability, Conduct, Character, Capacity, Capital and Counterparties. [1]

Thousands of public-and-private-sector data points are pulled together to determine the trustworthiness of building professionals, and the projects constructed.

Brad Walters, Head of Product and Ratings Services at Equifax, says that the iCIRT rating system is a game-changer for anyone purchasing property but also for industry professionals such as those who supply materials to the building sector. [2]

“The release of our public register of iCIRT rated construction firms will help bolster consumer confidence amidst a backdrop of challenging times in the construction industry,” he said.

Benefits of choosing an iCIRT-rated building company:

  • Reassurance and confidence around one of life’s biggest purchasing decisions
  • A way to find trustworthy building professionals
  • Peace of mind knowing that your building professional has the capability, capacity, resilience and reliability to deliver good quality-built assets [3]

Mr Walters says that this improved transparency is part of the NSW government’s multi-pillar reform program to restore confidence in the building sector for consumers and the broader community.

“These reforms will help protect people from physical, emotional, and financial harm, leaving those few that have been doing the wrong thing with nowhere to hide, while providing a fair and equitable playing field for those doing the right thing,” he said.

Members of the public and building professionals can access the iCIRT register online to review a company’s performance – but fees apply for downloading a full company report.

ALAND’s George Tadrosse says that the iCIRT rating system underscores the developer’s reputation for quality, transparency and reliability – and its 100% completion rate.

“We understand the importance of trust,” he said.
