ALAND’S Andrew Hrsto looking forward to EEL’S NRLW success this Sunday in the season opener

ALAND founder and director Andrew Hrsto looks forward to the Parramatta Eels women’s opening game of the 2023 NRLW season this weekend.

The new-look side is captained by Kennedy Cherrington and Rachael Pearson, and features eleven fresh faces.

Representative stars Rachael Pearson, Elsie Albert, Mahalia Murphy, Shontelle Stowers, Talesha O’Neill and Amelia Mafi will each make their first NRLW appearance since joining the Eels this season.

The Eels will kick off their 2023 NRLW match against Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium on Sunday at 12pm. Tickets on sale now!

ALAND is a long-time corporate sponsor of Parramatta Eels and has been supporting the women’s squad since its inception in 2022.

“At ALAND, we are keen to encourage women’s achievement in both business and sport,” he said. “Becoming a sponsor for the Eels women’s team was a natural move for us.”

The Eels provided a glimpse of things to come when they defeated the Dragons 18-14 at a pre-season match in Granville on July 7.

After attending the Season Launch with his daughter Monique, Mr Hrsto is confident that Eels supporters will continue get behind the women’s team when they launch their campaign in the newly-expanded 10-team footy competition.

“One of the things I love about the Eels is the passion of the fans for club,” Mr Hrsto said. “And I’m thrilled to see this great enthusiasm now being extended to the women’s team.”

Hrsto, a long-time Eels fan, says that ALAND is proud to continue supporting such a talented group of young athletes through its ongoing sponsorship of the club.

“I’ve been supporting the Eels since the days of Ray Price, Eric Grothe Senior and Peter Stirling,” he said.

“The advent of the NRLW team is another great milestone for the club and we’re delighted to support these future stars.”

Mr Hrsto and daughter Monique were also guests at an event last month to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Parramatta’s back-to-back premiership victories in 1981, 1982 and 1983.

“The excitement of sharing a table with Peter Stirling, Michael Cronin, Ray Price and Peter Wynn is something only an Eels supporter could understand,” he said.
