New ALAND Board Member Announced

John Ajaka with Andrew Hrsto

The Hon. John Ajaka, the former president of the NSW Legislative Council and a respected community leader, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the ALAND Group.

The announcement was made by Andrew Hrsto, founder and owner of ALAND, who praised John’s distinguished parliamentary career and his life-long commitment to pressing social issues such as multiculturalism and disability.

“I’m very excited by John’s appointment to the Board which will further enhance our strong strategic direction, focus and leadership across the ALAND Group,” he said.

During his 14 years in parliament Mr Ajaka, a lawyer, held several Ministerial Portfolios and sat on many parliamentary committees, ending his career as president of the Legislative Council of NSW – a position he held for over three years.

Mr Ajaka says ALAND’s values very much reflect his own having served in multiple ministerial portfolios including Ageing, Disability Services and Multiculturalism.

“ALAND is all about creating thriving and affordable communities that are accessible to everyone, and which ultimately create a better life for people right across Greater Western Sydney and the Central Coast,” he said.

“It also has a 20-year track record which is second to none and has truly shown the path to the entire construction industry, ensuring quality, trust and confidence for the consumer are the priorities on every project.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining Andrew on the Board and helping to guide ALAND as it continues to invest, transform and build more homes for the people of New South Wales.”

Mr Ajaka, a former Chair of the Sydney Local Health District, is currently Chair of MyGuardian Aged & Disability Care and Chairperson of the NSWRL Foundation.
